The Venue is a two-floored nightclub & live concert hall located in the centre of Dumfries (South-West Scotland) right beside the Rabbie Burns Statue.
The Venue's Live Lounge is open almost every Thursday and Friday from 7.30pm (See Live Listings Link Above for details). It's the only fully equipped live music venue for miles around. If you want to see and hear a band at their best, The Venue is the place to do it.
The recently refurbished nightclub is open from Thursday - Sunday from 10pm - 3am. The refurbishment has brought an all-new clubbing experience to Dumfries as we have a new style-bar set in modern contemporary surroundings, new state of the art lighting and comfortable chill-out area. We stock a variety of competitively priced branded drinks. You may expect to see Reef, Bottled Stella, Sourz 25ml shot and Smirnoff & Red Bull at £1.50 each on a club night with all bottled and draught beer at £2.30 each on a band night.
On Thursdays, Band Evenings start at 7.30pm and run until 11pm in The Live Lounge. A variety of different bands perform on band evenings and there is always something on the bill to appeal to all musical tastes. Meanwhile the Weekend Warm-up Starts in the Sky Bar at 10pm and runs until 3am. Thursday nights will see a new dance night mixed with some modern chart. The music is good, the atmosphere is great and surroundings are comfortable and fresh - since admission is free... Why go anywhere else?
On a Friday, we hold another live music night which see bands perform from 7.30-11pm in The Live Lounge (see Live Band Listings link above) After the live music, our resident Friday DJ Andy brings you The Party Zone, playing Friday Night Anthems from the Ballroom. This night began in The Sky Bar but grew so popular that we had to move it downstairs! The Party Zone blends the latest chart, funkiest retro, coolest R'n'B, upfront dance and amazing indie. Admission Only £1, before midnight, £3 after.
Saturday is one big party, held on two floors and we pride ourselves in having the best variety of great music in town with DJ Kevin Wallace and Small Paul playing the best selection of upfront and exclusive commercial dance, funky house and electronica available today downstairs in The Ballroom and either DJ Ewan, Andy or Darren rocking the SkyBar with their selection of party anthems and retro favourites. Cocktails are a speciality in The SkyBar and as you are free to wander between the floors you can mix and match all genres of music to get the best parts of both floors all night long. Admission is only £2 before midnight, £4 after - you are always guaranteed value for money.
Join The Weekend Wind-Down at The Venue from 10pm on a Sunday. Tonight you have the choice to sit and have a quiet drink or get up and dance the night away. Customers can take control of the music and hear what they like. Admission is completely free and you would need a good excuse to go anywhere else!
We like to move with the times at The Venue and have various things set up to improve your visit. We were one of the first clubs in the area to have a live text message service in which you can request your songs and dedications. Simply send a text to the DJ on 07796 43 73 94 and he will shout out your dedication or play your request.
