The Venue is a two-floored nightclub & live concert hall located in the centre of Dumfries (South-West Scotland) right beside the Rabbie Burns Statue.
The Venue's Live Lounge is open almost every Friday and Saturday from 8pm (View Live Band Listing link above for details). It's the only fully equipped live music venue for miles around. If you want to see and hear a band at their best, The Venue is the place to do it.
The recently refurbished nightclub is open at the weekend from 11pm - 3am. The refurbishment has brought an all-new clubbing experience to Dumfries as we have a new style-bar set in modern contemporary surroundings, new state of the art lighting and comfortable chill-out area. We also stock a variety of competitively priced branded drinks.
On Fridays, band evenings start at 8pm and run until 11pm in The Live Lounge. A variety of different bands perform on band evenings and there is always something on the bill to appeal to all musical tastes. After the band finishes a DJ will play tunes for the customers until the early hours. You may expect to hear some current chart, indie R’n’B and classic rock tunes. The music is good, the atmosphere is great and surroundings are comfortable and fresh – so why go anywhere else?
On a Saturday, we hold another live music night, which see bands perform from 8-11pm in The Live Lounge (View Live Band Listings link above for details) After the live music, our resident DJs are on until 3am in the SkyBar.
Occasionally there are specialist DJ nights on in The Ballroom, mainly at the beginning and end of the month You can expect to see special guest DJs which have been booked from far and wide for your entertainment.
As two floors are open we pride ourselves in having the best variety of great music in town, with our DJs playing the best selection of upfront and exclusive commercial dance, funky house and electronica available today downstairs in The Ballroom and upstairs in the SkyBar we have a selection of party anthems and retro favourites.
Cocktails are a speciality in The SkyBar and as you are free to wander between the floors you can mix and match all genres of music to get the best parts of both floors all night long.
